ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Bec – a teacher, mentor, and advocate for children’s growth and family wellbeing.

Saltwater Pathways began with a simple belief: every child’s path is unique and deserves support that honours their potential. I’ve witnessed first-hand the long waitlists and gaps in support that families face when their child is newly diagnosed, or when something just doesn’t feel right with their development. Seeing families wait, worry, and struggle inspired me to create a space where they are truly heard, guided, and supported with compassion.

At Saltwater Pathways, each child is treated as an individual. My practice is grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches, nurturing confidence, connection, and progress. I work to help little people grow at their own pace, with support that meets them where they are.

I provide specialised early childhood support for NDIS participants and private clients, focusing on building confidence, connection, and capacity through evidence-based, family-centred practice.

How I Support Your Child and Family

1. Getting to know your child

I begin by spending time with you and your child to understand:

  • Strengths and interests

  • Developmental profile

  • Learning style

  • Family priorities

  • Any concerns you wish to explore

This helps ensure support is truly individualised and meaningful.

2. Working with you to identify the best supports

Together, we:

  • Clarify your child’s goals

  • Identify strategies that support learning, regulation, communication, and participation.

  • Decide on the developmental and educational supports that will be most helpful.

  • Create a plan that fits your daily routines and family context.

3. Guiding you to the right community supports

Where appropriate, I can help connect your family with:

  • Local early childhood programs

  • Playgroups and community supports

  • Early learning centres and preschools

  • Developmental groups

  • Family support services

I help make sure you’re not navigating the system alone.

4. Providing early intervention and developmental support

I deliver education-based, non-clinical early intervention focused on:

  • Play and engagement

  • Communication-supporting strategies

  • Social and emotional development

  • Early learning and pre-academic skills

  • Behaviour support implementation

  • Emotional regulation

  • Daily living and independence skills

  • Family coaching and capacity-building

Support is tailored to your goals and aligned with recommendations from any allied health professionals involved.

5. Navigating the NDIS (information and support)

If your child may benefit from longer-term, funded early childhood intervention, I can provide:

  • General information about the NDIS

  • Guidance on what evidence you may need

  • Support to understand the access process
